Month of May
By
tradition, the Catholic Church dedicates each month of the year to a
certain devotion. In May, it is the Blessed Virgin Mary. This devotion
arose among Jesuits in Rome in the late 18th century and quickly spread
throughout the Western Church. By the time of Pope Piux IX's
declaration of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception in 1854, it had
become universal. May crownings and other special May events in honor
of Mary, such as public recitation of the rosary, stem from this time.

May, Month of Mary
As May was the month of Mary, our Blessed Mother, and June is the Month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, does it not follow that as May leads into June, Mary leads us to her the love of her Son, symbolized by His Sacred Heart.

The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ
Blessed be the Most Precious Body and Blood
of Jesus Christ...
The Heart will see, if it believe and loves...
At the celebration of Mass;
at every Mass as this very Mass,
the past and the future become the present moment.
"Let
us ask ourselves this evening, adoring the Christ truly present in the
Eucharist: do I let myself be transformed by Him?" Pope Francis
The Latin words ‘Corpus Christi’ mean ‘Body of Christ’. On this solemn Feast of Corpus Christi, we proclaim our belief in the Real presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. As we receive the Body and Blood of Christ, we are not only entering into a deep and intimate relationship with Him, but we are also being built up into the living mystical body of Christ.

"The Solemnity of Corpus Christi - The Body of Christ - is an annual liturgical celebration, for centuries accompanied by a procession, whose purpose is to enable the faithful to draw new strength from the Eucharistic source of life and to proclaim Christ's Real Presence to the world. This is one time when the Blessed Sacrament is exposed, not just to faithful Catholics, but to all the world as we honor Him in a very public way and show our love for our neighbors by bringing Our Lord and Savior closer to them. Whenever Our Lord is taken outside the confines of His sanctuary home, He changes the lives of all who look upon Him, even those who meet Him for the first time. As eyes behold Jesus Christ, souls make a connection with the Wellspring of Eternal Life."
When we go before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament we
represent the one in the world who is in most need of God’s Mercy." We
"Stand in behalf of the one in the world who does not know Christ and who
is farthest away from God and we bring down upon their soul the Precious Blood
of The Lamb."
- Pope John Paul II
"If I can give you any advice, I beg you to get
closer to the Eucharist and to Jesus... We must pray to Jesus to give us that
tenderness of the Eucharist."
-Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Catholic
I am
so proud to be Catholic and have a Christian faith. If Protestants
read the teachings of the church doctors, they would abandon Martin
Luther's changes.

Catholic Bible
Someone mentioned that Catholics never read bible.
We, Catholics, use the Bible a lot!
In Mass, Prayers, Hymnals and more. We have Readings for everyday, Sundays, Holy Day of Obligations and through out the YEAR!
I have more than 30 bibles here in my room. I use NAB and NIV the most.

A time to ponder, make alive the Paschal Mystery of CHRIST: Passion and Death, Which wrought forth our Salvation.

Advent
We begin a new liturgical year as we celebrate the First Sunday of Advent. Today's readings are set the pace for the weeks that follow. They invite us to enter into a time of anticipation. The Latin word adventus means coming or arrival. and in this season, we celebrate Jesus' triple coming: his coming into human history when he was born of the Blessed Virgin Mary, his coming into our lives now in his Word and in the sacraments of his Church, and his coming in glory at the end of time. The readings tell us how to anticipate his coming: be vigilant, be prepared, be hopeful.

Advent begins today!
So how do we celebrate the story of Christmas?
For me, celebrating Advent is a big part of telling the story of the First Christmas.
The Season of Advent begins four Sundays before Christmas.
Simple. Lighting candles and reading scripture.
You need 5 candles and a bible.(3 purple, 1 rose and 1 white)
A Simple Life.
To all my friends:
May the Season of Advent fill your Hearts with Love, Joy and Peace.
========
Today is the first Sunday of Advent. In a 1996 Homily, Blessed Pope John Paul II said of Advent,
"Advent is the liturgical season that prepares us for the Lord's birth, but it is also the time of expectation for the definitive return of Christ."

Blessed Virgin of the Rosary
The Church dedicates the month of October to the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary. As we pray each decade, we mediate on one of the mysteries of the Rosary, celebrating God's love for us.

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
It is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Church celebrates that in Mary there were no obstacles to prevent her from passing immediately through death and becoming the first after her Son to be raised body and soul into the fullness of God. (unknown author)
Blessed Virgin Mary was made sinless by God by PREVENTING
her from sinning, then because of her sinlessness God can never allow Blessed
Virgin Mary’s body to decay here on earth that’s why she was assumed to heaven.
In celebration of the Virgin Mary's physical and soul assumption into Heaven.
Thank you for all loving and protecting our Blessed
Mother.
Thank you for enlightening me.
