Aunt and Uncles Day honors a very special pair of relatives. They are your mom and dad''s brothers and sisters. We hope you have a lot of Aunts and Uncles. The more, the merrier.
 
Our Aunts and Uncles mean a lot to us. Among other things, they are most likely:

• The backup caretaker when mom and dad go out, or are at work.
• Real characters at family get-togethers and events.
• Someone we can talk to and related to..... some things we just can talk about with "parental units".
• Sound counsel and advice.
• Someone who takes you to fun places and events.
• Someone whose house is a great place to sleepover, especially if you have cousins.
• The ones who give you great presents for birthdays, Christmas and special events.
• And, the benefits of Aunts and Uncles goes on, and on, and on, and.........

Charles E. Minches of St. Louis, Missouri, came up with the idea of filling pastry one with two scoops of ice cream, thereby inventing the ice cream cone.  The walk away cone made its debut later that year at the St. Louis’s World Fair.

Cheer Up the Lonely Day is an opportunity to make a lonely person happy. Any time you can make someone happy, you've done a good thing, and should be proud of yourself.

Lonely people have few friends and loved ones. They may have lost loved ones over the years. They may be elderly. They see people on an infrequent basis.

Spend some time today cheering up lonely people. It's easy to do…just spend some time with them. When you visit, bring happy things to talk about. Keep the conversation upbeat, and lively. When you leave, give a big hug and let them know you enjoyed the stay. Sending cards or making a phone call is okay, only if they live too far away to visit. What a lonely person really needs, is face to face time with other people.

God is Everywhere

God doesn't have a BlackBerry or an iPhone, but He is my favourite contact. He doesn't have Facebook, but He is my best friend. He doesn't have Twitter, but I follow Him and He doesn't have internet, but I am connected to Him. He has higher tech than what we have. ♥
